A Living Tribute to Service and Legacy
The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was dedicated as a living memorial to the United States Armed Forces veterans who served in World War I. For over a century, the Coliseum has become a civic landmark, a gathering place where generations have come together to celebrate achievement, perseverance, and unity, and an iconic stadium witnessing the best in human competition. The Concourse of Heroes honors events and individuals who have served in the United States Armed Forces and whose lives intersect with the history of the Coliseum—athletes, public servants, and community figures whose contributions extend beyond the field of play.
Each image in this collection reflects the enduring connection between the Coliseum’s founding purpose and its ongoing story: a tribute to courage, sacrifice, and the human spirit. As a Memorial to the Defenders of Freedom, the Coliseum continues to stand not only as a monument to the heroes of the past, but also as an inspiration to future generations who carry forward the values of service and honor.
